Aptos is a small town that lies just 10 minutes south of Santa Cruz. From the redwoods of Nisene Marks, the historic Aptos Village, or Seacliff State Beach; Aptos has something for everyone. The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park is a massive 10,000 acre redwood forest with 30-miles of trails for hiking, bicycling, and bird watching. Picnic  areas amongst the majestic redwood trees are very peaceful. One of the favorite hikes amongst visitors is to hike to the epicenter of the Loma Prieta         Earthquake. The earthquake occurred on October 17, 1989 at 5:04pm. The Forest of Nisene is a great Mountain Biking area for beginner to expert. The park is open daily from 6am to sunset.

If the beach is more your style, then travel to Seacliff State Beach. The Seacliff facilities are perfect for picnicking, RV camping, long walks on the beach, sun bathing and much more. Seacliff is best known for the SS Palo Alto, or as locals have come to call it, “the cement ship.” If you are choosing to camp then you will need to make reservations.

The Aptos History Museum is a great place to see just how big this little town really is. The museum illustrates the history of Aptos through artifacts, and photographs. After visiting the museum, why not stop by Aptos Village County Park? The park is great for daily family activities along with your special times, such as weddings, private parties and more.

Cabrillo College is one of the best Junior Colleges in California. If you are into the Arts, then you owe it to yourself to visit the Cabrillo College Art Gallery or the Cabrillo College Visual, Applied & Performing Arts Complex. The Performing Arts center houses 3-performance venues; the Black Box Theater, Samper Recital Hall and the Crocker Theater. Performances are held year round.

Looking for locally grown farm fresh vegetables and produce? Look no further than the Aptos Farmers Market . Locals love the great selection of organic produce and the specialty foods not found in other parts of the county. The Aptos Farmers Market has been voted as one of the best in California.

Looking to relax amongst the trees? Find your way to Aptos Village County Park. This is a great place to hang with the family for picnics, family fun and so much more. The Aptos Village Park is dog friendly and is open sunrise to sunset. For all of those who are wine aficionados, there is the Corralitos Wine Trail. Along the wine trail you will find family owned wineries from the Nicholson Vineyards, Pleasant Valley Vineyards and Windy Oaks Estate Winery & Vineyards. You will discover the hidden gems of Corralitos on this trail.
